Initiatives toward Reducing Environmental Burdens

The Toyo Tanso Group promotes the design of products with a reduced impact on the global environment while also promoting energy conservation, greenhouse gas reduction, resource conservation, waste reduction, and recycling. In accordance with various environmental laws and regulations, the Group also monitors emissions of environmentally hazardous substances in the manufacturing processes for its products and strives to reduce environmental burdens.
To further the promotion of energy conservation and decarbonization, the Energy Conservation Committee meets quarterly to discuss each manufacturing division's energy conservation activities and results, and to discuss how to better promote energy conservation activities and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

Reducing Emissions of Chemical Substances

In accordance with the Act on Confirmation, etc. of Release Amounts of Specific Chemical Substances in the Environment and Promotion of Improvements to the Management Thereof (PRTR), Toyo Tanso monitors and reports on the release and transfer amount of substances subject to the PRTR law and manages these substances appropriately.

Managing Industrial Waste

Toyo Tanso has established reduction targets for waste emissions and is currently engaged in various reduction activities. Following the introduction of electronic manifests and industrial waste management systems, Toyo Tanso is promoting proper management of industrial waste through centralized management of relevant contracts, permits, and manifests.
