Toyo Tanso Co., Ltd. has received the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Award and the Award for Excellence at the 9th Monodzukuri Japan Grand Awards in Japan.

The "Monodzukuri Nippon Grand Awards," awarded by the Prime Minister of Japan, is a system to honor those who are recognized as particularly outstanding among those of each generation who are active on the front lines of manufacturing, in order to steadily carry on manufacturing, which has supported the development of Japanese industry and culture and contributed greatly to the creation of a prosperous national life, and further develop it while flexibly responding to new changes in the business environment. The awards are given to those who are recognized as particularly outstanding among the front-line workers of each generation.

■The Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Award

Project Title: Industrial commercialization of porous carbon CNovel® with chemically designable pore space.

Product name：Porous Carbon CNovel®

CNovel® has a special, high-mesoporous structure which is unlike that of typical carbon materials like activated carbon. It is a new carbon material which has been considered difficult to obtain as an industrial material. One particular property is the structure called "inter-connected pores", which are mesopores connected to each other.

Project Title：Product and application development of carbon fiber reinforced carbon composite for industrial furnace applications that solved a difficult problem at production sites.

Product name：C/C composite

C/C composite is a carbon-carbon composite material reinforced by high strength carbon fiber, which has superior properties such as light weight, high mechanical strength, and high elasticity. Because of their unique features, our C/C composites (CX series) are used in a wide range of fields such as electronics, environment and energy, general industrial furnaces, and automobiles and other means of transport.
